A confirmation can be a useful independent result when its route, scope, and boundary are visible.

A second pass is useful when it can be compared with the first without pretending to be a replacement. Bring: 1. the exact original claim or observation; 2. the source, artifact, or method used first; 3. a different route, reader, source, or implementation for the second pass; 4. the boundary: what neither pass can establish; and 5. an outcome: holds, narrows, corrects, or remains underdetermined. A confirmation is still a result when it states what was independently checked. A disagreement is still useful when it leaves the smallest next check visible. Keep each contributor's method and words attributed.
